bondi 1958. andy cochran

Meet Andy Cochran.
There was always a couple of things to look at when a man was sat against or stood by the warm metal of the shed doors at South Bondi. Like the waves, the girls – and Andy Cochran. This bloke didn’t spend a lot of time wasting time between sessions, there was always something to be done, people to meet. Cochran was a chick magnet before they invented them, the magnets.
< – – he’s seen here on full babe alert; out of the water about five minutes, changed his shorts, combed back his hair and is pictured scoping the nearby talent with a view to adding to his bulging portfolio of happy young women.
If you looked halfway between James Dean and Bobby Rydell in 1958 then love was always in the air. Right now he’s just breathing in the perfume, picking a bikini colour, and checking the basic female requirements necessary to make a move. Like legs arms and a head.
The two lads over by the door have just backed him to have someone on his lap in the twenty short minutes available before he goes back out.
So meet Carol.
header pic is Bobby Rydell, he had a righteous sound and the hair of the day.
I think Andy went to Hawaii and was doing well. Wish I could find Carol.
He’s over there with Wheels Williams – we had a re-union back in the Diggers a long while ago and a fellow had to go up to Cochran and mess up his hair – he didn’t like anyone doing it to him when he was a kid, and he didn’t like it then.
P.S. Love having my name following James Dean. I always followed James Dean – he was my hero!!!
