I would like to draw your attention to the surf boat and the configuration of rowers therein. In particular I would recommend an examination of the sweep’s technique, he’s the chap being coat-hangered by his own oar.
And there’s the fellow in amongst the mess wearing what looks like a thong. Lucky for him he passed on the sweep’s job today, that oar could have gone anywhere.
Maybe they are all falling about laughing at the situation, maybe all he wanted to do was make the boat turn left, who knows, it’s our job to make sure they never forget it.

A passing goat boater has chucked a fizzing grenade into the skiff. Your man with the inserted oar is just the most enterprising of this sorry crew.
I’ll give you a hundred reasons why poms shouldn’t surf Benno, two hundred – take the piss out of our clubbies will you, and skiff? .. what’s this skiff, that’s a boardrider killer surfboat, that’s the ENEMY Ben, but he’s our enemy.
This, by the way, is a personal view kept watered and cultured from the early 60’s, and this is a rare flowering.
