Meet Wally Newell.
Known as Wally the Walker, he predated Kevin the Head .. and if this kid was around today he wouldn’t be wearing Billabong because when his dad drove them all home from their holidays at Ballina last year they had to call by Tenterfield on the way down to have a few beers with Jack the Stutterer. In the Pub. This took a while. So Wally walked around a bit.
Half of the blokes in the pub were wearing Bong T’s. Blokes punting or drinking, playing pool, blokes drinking. Big fellows, kegs on legs. Hooting in the winners. Playing White Hunter. Plenty of hefty eaters in the beergarden wearing Bong shorts.
So that’s why Wally won’t have any ~ just fine looking like what I look like, thanks.

As Wally goes, so goes surfing. It will be a said day for surfers when the Wallys of the world are gone. Hopefully the last Wally will turn off the lights, what comes after shouldn’t be seen by the light of day.

I’m so excited that all my old photos are getting an airing – thanks to Dan Webber etc. Who’d have thought? I want to see what all these people look like now – it’s 54 years since I’ve seen them!
cochran still has the hair, yates drives a porsche, wheels plays a lot of tennis, dooley is still a blonde, magoo hasn’t lost a comp in 55 years.

Apart from his red hair and the fact that I liked WALLY because he was a decent character and we lost him to bike riding not much more I can say .
BTW I HAVE NEVER OWNED A PORCHE .
