pleasing her
by peterbowes on April 20, 2011

she was sat in a bar the other day
talking on her iphone
and filming from her computer –
alone
_ later
she was telling a travelling rep how she could never use these things
never owned a computer
he was at another table
watching a screen
and men fighting in caged rings
he was a spare parts distributor
she asked him for a lift back to her place
if at all he was able
she wasn’t pretty, but neither was he.
and he made a call, then they left me
I could hear all this you see
because they talked so loud
as if the bar was busy
and we were lost in the crowd.
