koyaanisqatsi – life out of balance

The reason that director Godfrey Reggio excluded any dialogue in the film was that he thought that language was in a vast state of humiliation.
When the film first came to Australia in about 1982 I took my eldest daughter and the local parish priest all the way from Warriewood to Glebe to see it.
God only knows how I convinced him to witness such an event – though he did have a love of music. Young fellow he was, and thought I might dip him into it a little.
More fool me.
