McLean NSW is a Tidy Town
…. and it also features a tidy main street pub, the McLean, a handsome establishment with an established clientele of the ancient and grizzled – men not quite in their prime who like to show up early everyday, grab their customary seat in the beer garden and drink a lot of beer.
They may be married, they may be not, in any case it’s rare to see any of them in the company of a woman unless it’s the lovely behind the bar, Monique, she too is a local but unlike the men she serves, Monique has a rampant sense of humour, she also is in charge of the beer garden whiteboard, the one that’s supposed to show tourists (us) what the specials are on the day’s menu.
