how it can all go wrong.

This is about food, hotel suites, service and the promise of a dinner served exactly as per  described in the hotel menu. This, in an almost deserted restaurant down Opal Cove way, a Coffs Harbour retreat advertising uncompromising ocean views and gourmet meals.

We arrived, were shown a seat, ordered our drinks and waited. Then, when the drinks waiter arrived with them he didn’t hesitate in spilling my wife’s glass of riesling all over both her and the table.
Oops. He apologised again and again.. young fellow in the wrong job., we’ve all been there. Forgedditaboutit.

The dinner menu looked ordinary; pizzas, fish and chips, hamburgers, pan fried barramundi and Caesar Salad.

This was all  before we entered our suite.

And were welcomed by ocean vista rooms,  widely advertised as superlative yet lately impeded by  views such as this.

Somebody had installed a massive array of solar heating panels and nobody on the desk seemed to know that the view of their premier honeymoon suite was a little disenfranchised by this development.  My wife and I have been married for 57 years, and if you can’t keep it up then I can’t help you. This was not quite right.

So, to dinner.…

Where it all went south . ..
