come on in

We’re looking at a picture here (lifted from aquabumps) with four chill tubs each with one person inside and about half a dozen waiting their turn meaning that by the time the babe wearing the blue one-piece in the first line gets in she’s going to be neck deep in some pretty diabolical water courtesy of all those who dipped themselves before her turn came up.

The Ponds Institute did an investigation into chill tub water after a busy day and they confirmed all of the following nasties were found in the surface scum.

Bacteroidaceae, or bacteria from faeces, E.coli, streptococcus and salmonella. Viruses and parasites, fungi, crotch-rot, tinea, sexually transmitted diseases, discarded skin, scabs, toe-nails, phlegm and hair – pubic or otherwise, clods of matted hair.*

That’s one thing, the other is that you don’t see any of the old Bondi long-boarders in the queues, blokes between 75 and 85 … they’re drinking coffee instead because they know about shit in the water, they grew up surfing in it when the North Bondi sewerage works dumped its nightly load offshore and they had no choice, now we’ve got the beautiful people choosing to do it. The irony is that if some of those relics decided to join in the fun you could bet not many of these youngsters would fancy jumping in after them.

*I’ve just been told in utmost confidence by a close and dear friend that some of the Bondi Longboard originals have another condition to add to the list and  known as ‘gifts from Bangkok.’

I’m imagining that the flight home for such afflicted old lads would be much more uncomfortable than the flight out, then there’s the trouble and strife to deal with.

I have passed this on to The Bondi Table of Knowledge, so watch out Pete you’ll be getting
“ hate mail”. By the way, you forgot to add in the disease list “ gifts from Bangkok “ as some of the love seeking Table Members find their way up there these days 🫣🫣.
