My mother was born under a tree.

Jacinta Nampijinpa Price is the The Opposition’s Indigenous Australian spokeswoman.

Today she addressed the National Press Club and where she said “colonisation has been good for Indigenous Australians.”

Price has exposed the short-sightedness of Australian voters, knowing that many of us have no real knowledge of the rape and pillaging these ‘colonists’ visited upon Terra Nullius, this nobody’s land, this Australia.

Where they massacred the indigenous inhabitants with impunity.

I live two miles away from the site of the East Ballina Massacre where it is believed some victims were never buried, their bodies being either dumped off the cliff at Black Head or abandoned on Angels Beach. Men women and children hunted down by troopers from Queensland, chased to the edge of the cliff overlooking one of the most favoured surf spots up here.

Massacres .. where colonisation has been good for indigenous Australians.

My Scottish GGGGGGrandfather arrived and was employed by the Australian Agriculture Company in 1838, given two packhorses, some sheep and told to “go west”, who knows what that led to?

Later in life, he was supervisor of the Peel River gold mines, so probably a tough old bugger?
